In your Statement 2 of Case a & b testing, any reason of testing only with 4 in both cases and not 4 and -4 each? Thanks Brent.
Once I found two conflicting cases with b = 4, I was able to conclude that statement 2 is not sufficient. In your Statement 2 of Case a & b testing, any reason of testing only with 4 in both cases and not 4 and -4 each? Thanks Brent.
If I were unable to do so with b = 4, I would have started looking for a conflicting cases with b = -4

1. a^3 = -27
No detail b BUT we now know a=-3 and negative numbers power by odd numbers will always be negative which will always be less than 4^something even though negative.
Sufficient
2. B^2 = 16
No detail a but implies b=4
> not sufficient, can’t solve without knowing a.
Answer: A
