If a and b are positive integers, is ab odd?

(1) a + b is odd.
a+b as odd is possible ONLY when one of them is positive and other negative.
if any of a and b is even, ab will be even..
sufficient

(2) a^b is even.
this means a is even
ab will be even
sufficient

D
