Let a=2(Even), b=3(Prime) & c=9(Odd)

a*b*c=2*3*9=54

and 0 < a < b < c i.e, 0<2<3<9

Prime-factorizing the answer options might be an easy way to solve this problem
(In case, you aren't able to come up with the numbers a,b,c s.t 0 < a < b < c

A) 5 = 1*5(Not possible)
B) 12 = 2*2*3(Not possible as a is not equal to b)
C) 16 = 2*2*2*2(Doesn't have an odd number 'c')
D) 34 = 1*2*17(Doesn't have an even number 'a')
E) 54 = 2*3*3*3(a = 2, b = 3, c = 9) (Option E)

IMPORTANT: this is one of those questions that require us to check/test each answer choice. In these situations, always check the answer choices from E to A, because the correct answer is typically closer to the bottom than to the top.

For more on this strategy, see my article: http://www.gmatprepnow.com/articles/han ... -questions

Brent

54=2*3*9, rest of answer choices do not work the same way
