(1) A:B = 2:3 and B:C = 2:3

A, B and C are positive. A = ?
St1: A:B = 2:3 and B:C = 2:3 --> A:B:C = 4:6:9 --> A can take many values. Not sufficient
St2: Sum of 3 numbers is prime --> Clearly insufficient. 1 + 1 + 1 = prime. or 2 + 2 + 1 = prime. Not sufficient
Combining St1 and St2,
A + B + C = 4x + 6x + 9x = prime
19x = prime
Since 19x is prime and a prime has only 2 factors (1 and itself) --> x = 1
A = 4*1 = 4.
Sufficient
Answer: C

Answer should be C as per me.
1---clearly Insuff.
2---clearly insuff.
1 n 2 both--> say we tk 'x' and accordingly
a=2x; b=3x and c=9/2x
a+b+c=prime no.
Therefore, (19/2)x is prime.
So for 19/2x to be prime, x got to be 2. otherwise, it wont be prime.
So once we know, we can derive a=2x.
