speed ; 211*60/195 ; ~ 65 mph

Clearly, the total distance driven is 211 miles. Total time taken : 3 hours and 15 minutes. Hence avg speed=total distance/total time. So, avg speed=211÷3(1/4) =(211*4)/13. We can take 208 as it is properly divisible by 13, so 208/13= 16. So we get 16*4=64. But the actual value should be slightly more than that because we reduced the numerator by just 3 miles. Finally, it should be 64.something. Clearly, answer has to be D.

IMO D

Speed = Distance / Time

Distance = 211 Miles
Time = 3.25 hrs

Speed = 211/ 3.25 = 64.9 ~= 65

Average speed=Total miles drove/Total time=211/3.25=65 D.

Explanation:
time taken from 9: 30 a.m. and 12: 45 p.m=3 hours 15 min
i.e 3+1/4 hrs
=13/4 hrs

thus avg speed=Dis/time
=211/(13/4)
=64.9

Hence D is the correct answer.
