I chose E.

Statement 1

mv = 6
Possible value of m & v are : (1,6),(6,1),(2,3),(3,2),(-2,-3),(-3,-2)
Therefore sum m+v can be 7,5 or -5. There are multiple values for m+v.
This is therefore not sufficient.

Statement 2

(m+v)^2 = 25
Thus m+v = (+or-)5
Possible values of m&v are (2,3),(3,2),(-2,-3) & (-3,-,2)
Even here, there are 2 different possible values of m+v,ie, 5 or -5.
Thus, this statement is also not sufficient.

Combining Statement 1 & 2, we still get 2 distinct values of m+v, 5 or -5.

Thus E. Both the statements are insufficient.

stat 1 : not sufff

stat 2 : m+v = +/- 5

hence E...both not suff
