annual salaries is $x
total person n

therefore we have 12*y*n = x
n = x/(12y)

MathRevolution: can you please confirm the OA ? I guess it should be A instead of B.

Hence option A is correct

==> Since the monthly salary per person is $y, the annual salary per person becomes $12y and the total sum of the annual salaries of n number of people becomes $12ny. Since it is $x, from $12ny=$x, you get n=x/12y.

The answer is A.

Let n=10, total salary x = 12000 thus
Total monthly salary = \(\frac{12000}{12} = 1000\)
Monthly salary per person y = \(\frac{1000}{10} = 100\)
Question asking for n which is 10
Option A: \(\frac{12000}{12*100} = 100\)
Thus option A

Here given that

x = n * 12y

As x is sum of annual salary and y is the monthly salary
n is the no of person

Hence n = x / 12y

Ans A
