IMO E

x = 3^2 = 9

x^x = 9^9 = 3^18

Simplify x first.

$$x = 3^2 = 9$$

$$x^x = 9^9 = (3^2)^9 = 3^{18}$$

My reasoning:

$$3^{2* 3^2}$$

This becomes 3^18

Since x = 9, and since 9 = 3^2, we have:

9^9 = (3^2)^9 = 3^18
