Hello,

Don't you think it's C?

Because:

When x=1 and y=1, then yes: 5*3+4*1=19

But,

When x=7 and y=-4, then also: 5*7+4*-4=19

So you've got 2 possibilities, at least. Making statement 1 insufficient.

Therefore, it's got to be C.

Did you consider the fact that x and y are positive integers from the stem?

A is right in this case. Hope this helps.
