If X is a real number, is -3<X<3? (1) Least integer which is greater [#permalink]
IMO ans is C

given is a real number and we need to find whether x lies b/w (-3,3)

1) let integer be I
I>=x if I = 3,4,5 ......

if I = 3 and x = 3 then ans is no
if I = 3 and x = 2 then ans is yes
so 1 is insufficient

2) let integer be I
I <=x if I<=3

if I = 3 and X = 3 then ans is no
if I = 2 and x = 2.5 then ans is yes

so 2 is insufficient

Now 1) + 2)
I = x and I = 3
hence X = 3
sufficient

Hi,
Note that the question says that x be between 3 and -3. This means, it cannot be 3. Statement says, 3,4,...., Thus, we know it is nothing in between that since , it begins with 3. Thus, should be A.
