I'm struggling with this question
I think I am manipulating the inequalities incorrectly

if x is an integer, what is the value of x?

(1) -2(x+5) < -1

(2) -3x > 9

I get E but the official answer is C

my simplification
x < -3
2x > -9

For statement (1):
-2(x+5) < -1

Dividing both sides by -2

x + 5 > 1/2 ( this happens because the inequality sign gets reversed when both sides are multiplied or divided by a negative number )

Hence x > -4.5

For statement (2):
-3x > 9

Dividing both sides by -3, we get:
x < -3

Since only one integer value satisfies BOTH these conditions, option C is correct.
