Now y>0, so x will also be positive, because product of a positive number and a negative number is negative while product of two positive numbers or two negative number is positive.
Since here product is 16>0 and y is positive , x will also be positive.

Statement 1: SUFFICIENT.
"xy=POSITIVE " implies TWO issues.
(1) BOTH (x&y) POSITIVE or
(2) BOTH (x&y) NEGATIVE.
Since Y is positive, X must be positive.
Statement 2: SUFFICIENT.
X is GREATER than Y by 6 units. Since Y is positive, X must be positive.
