If y > 0, is x less than 0?

y positive

(1) xy = 16 : sufficient :as statement says both x and y have same sign
(2) x − y = 6: x= y+6 : both y and 6 are positive so X has to be positive : sufficient

If y > 0, is x less than 0?

(1) xy = 16
(2) x − y = 6

#1
xy=16
given y>0
so x has to be +ve hence >0 sufficient
#2
x-y=6
means x>y and also y>0 so x>0
sufficient
