If y ≠ 1, is (x - 1)/(y - 1) = 1 ?

Is (x - 1)/(y - 1) = 1 ?
Is x - 1 = y - 1 ?
Is x = y ?

(1) x + y = 4. It's possible that x = y = 2 but it's also possible that (x = 1) ≠ (y = 3). Not sufficient.

(2) x = y. Directly answers the question. Sufficient.

Answer: B.

(1) x + y = 4
(2) x = y

Now first task, which i will do is, be wary of the given things

Secondly, i will see out of the 2 which one can i solve fast

from 2) this will always be true, for all numbers

from 1) x + y = 4, just focus on this statement

2+2, makes the question Yes
1+3, makes the question No
