squaring both sides

z^2 = 6zs - 9s^2
z^2 -6zs + 9s^2 = 0
z^2 -2(z)(3s) + (3s)^2 = 0

since a^2 - 2ab + b2 = (a - b)^2

So,

(z - 3s)^2 = 0
z - 3s = 0
z = 3s
