Hi everyone,

I am interested in pursuing my MBA at IIM Ahmedabad for the 2025 Intake. I want to be prepared regarding my application for next cohort. I was assuming the next year deadlines would be somewhere in September. I started preparing for my GMAT recently.

Background about me:

I moved to the U.S. when I was young. So, I completed my middle school, high school, and undergrad here in USA. In fact, I graduated with my undergraduate degree an year ago in December 2022. I started my first job as a data professional in Jan 2023. So, it has been an year since I started working and it will be bit more than 2 years when I enroll next year in 2025.

High School GPA:
- Cumulative GPA Weighted: 4.2879 / 4.5
- Cumulative GPA Unweighted: 3.7273 / 4 ----> CGPA conversion: 9.31825/10
- Class Rank: 141 / 621
- Service: Volunteered more than 400 hrs in 4 years; Member of club organzaitons in HS, Took part in Business Competitions

Undergraduate GPA:
- Major: Bachelor of Science in Business Administration with Information Technology Conc.; Honors in Business Analytics
- Cumulative GPA: 3.691 / 4 ----> CGPA conversion: 9.2275/10
- Campus Involvement:
* Leadership Roles: Executive President, Director of Publicity, Student Ambassador Leader, University Ambassador, Outreach Chair
* On-Campus Jobs: Teaching Assistant for Management and Data courses, Research Assistant, Project Management Intern

Internship Experience
- Business Anayst Intern (one summer)

Full-Time
- Data Professional at Finance Company (current)

It is true that I can pursue my MBA in the US. However, I grew up here. I want more global exposure. I want to learn about my roots and culuture. I want to learn from the Indian Business Schools to gain more exposure as my bachelors was BSBA.

I am not an American Citizen as I was born in India. However, I am a permanent resident in the US.

How does my profile look? Anyone had similar background who grew up in the US and went back to India to pursue MBA or higher education? How can I make my profile stronger? What about my GMAT score? Any strategies? Any feedback would be greatly appreciated.

I was looking at the IIM A Overseas Website and was not sure how to calculate the Rating Scores for 10th and 12th grades.

Any help would mean a lot.

Alternatively, you may explore the YLP route(early entry) for ISB which is a great alternative to IIM A and is currently the top ranked 1 year PGP/MBA program in India (not sure if you have specific preference for a longer immersive program such as the IIM A PGDM). The next deadline is March 31st, 2024. Alternatively, you can apply to the ISB PGP when you complete exactly 2 years of work expereince.
Overall you have a great profile, and in my opinion a really strong motivation to study in India. Focus on getting a decent GMAT score, know your current baseline from mock exams and create an end goal strategy. In addition, continue to research your goals as that could be an area of concern since you have not lived and worked in India. Happy to advise should you need professional guidance.

Hi Aanchal,

I am interested in a two year degree particularly at IIM Ahmedabad. I did take a look into ISB. What do you think about my profile for IIMA?
