I am going to apply to IIM - B in the coming admission cycle starting June'2015. I wrote GMAT last year and got a score of 740 (Q49, V41, IR8 and AWA 5). As of today I have 11.5 years of experience in a product based IT company and I am working as a Principal Software Engineer. My post-MBA goal is to get into product management.
I would like to get advice from all the gurus on how and what shall I prepare, starting today, so that my chances of getting admitted in IIM-B will improve.
Many thanks for your help in advance.
Regards, Niraj

Hi Niraj I have an admit for 2015 IIM B EPGP Program. So I think I am in a better position to answer this. Your GMAT and work experience is on the better side for sure. You should definitely apply for all 3 top IIMs. Your work on your profile and performance in interviews is going to be the cookie cutter. GMAT and interview weigh 20% in IIMB. Apart from this, the other big chunk is Profile Diversity, which counts roughly 10-15%. So try to add those browny points for diversity by working strong on your profile. Try to get more certifications. Try to organize more stuff. I hope this helps. Post me a PM to comment here in case of more help or queries.

The EPGP is a highly prestigious one-year program. In a short duration of time since its launch six years ago, the IIMB EPGP has made a strong name for itself, and is a much sought-after program among mid-career professionals. Hi Niraj,
Your GMAT score is very good and work experience is also decent. As long as you can blend that with your post MBA goals we dont see any issue. We have come across many applicants with similar profile who have made it to EPGP.
