The option that may not explain the trend in tourist revenue is (D).

The trend in tourist revenue can be explained by all other options.

However, the number of total hotel rooms (D) alone does not necessarily explain the trend in tourist revenue. While an increase in hotel rooms can accommodate more tourists, it does not directly correlate with an increase in tourist revenue. Factors such as occupancy rates, pricing, and other tourist spending patterns would have a more direct impact on revenue generation.

Correct option (D) The number of total hotel rooms has increased.

- Because an increase in hotel rooms alone does not guarantee more tourists or higher revenue. It is a factor that supports growth but does not directly cause it.
