In 19th-century Europe, a renewed interest in Middle Eastern architecture was kindled not only by increased trade but also by increased tourism and improved diplomatic relations.

( Look for paralleism and the correct idiom not only, but also)

(A) not only by increased trade but also by (looks good, let's go glance through the others)

(B) by not only increased trade but also by ( by not only, but also by....god, no!)

(C) not only by increased trade but also ( the missing 'by' makes the statement sound incomplete/awkward )

(D) not only by increased trade but (not only, but isn't incorrect but not sure if it's parrallel)

(E) by increased trade and also by ( awkward, grammatically incorrect )

Hence, OA A
