45% of Apples > 81 grams
81% of Apples < 145 grams

The percent of the apples in the barrel weigh more than 81 grams but less than 145 grams is 81-45 = 36%

E is the answer.

Let's assume we have 100 apples

Apples above 81g = 45
Apples below 145 = 81

Apples between 81 and 145: 45 (Apples above 81g) - 19 (Apples above 145g) = 26 apples are in the desired range
