target is to find smallest possible number of students in class
use answer options
at 20 we get football as 5 and both as 8 which is wrong
at 40 football is 10 , both is 8 and chess is 8 which makes the grid sufficient
option B 40

Bunuel
In a certain class, 1/4 of the students play football, and 1/5 of the students play chess. If 8 students play both football and chess, what is the smallest possible number of students in the class?

A. 20
B. 40
C. 60
D. 80
E. 100
