Given the ratio of perennials to annuals to bulbs is 9 : x : 3
Since number of bulbs is 12 then common term between ratios 'a' = 4

Hence 9 x 4 + 'x' x 4 + 3 x 4 = 56
Hence x = 2 Option B

The ratio of P : A : B = 9p: xp : 3p

The value of bulbs = 12 . That’s 3p =12 , p =4

The ratio of P : A : B = 9p: xp : 3p = 36: 4x : 12

Total flowers = 36+12+4x = 56

4x +48 = 56

4x = 8

x =2

Option B

9(4)+4x+3(4)=56
4x+36+12=56
4x=56-48
4x=8
x= 2

Total flowers =56
Let the ratio be P:A:B
9a:xa:3a
Bulbs =12
3a=12
a=4
And hence
9a+xa+3a=56
36+4x+12=56
4x=8
x=2
