There is a well known karaoke club, where professional singers where hired to assists guests who had trouble staying in tune with the songs when they attempt to sing. During day 1, the guests experienced discomfort when they heard their voices along side with the professional, they felt embarrassed and lost confidence.
On Day 2, the discomfort was lower among most number of singing guests.
Therefore, the club should not stop employing professional singers, as the discomfort experienced by the guests might diminish completely. What’s the assumption on the conclusion mentioned above ?
(A) The popularity of a karaoke club does not depend on the standard of vocal capability displayed by the guests.
Option A is wrong, as the popularity is not of context in the question stem.
(B) Employing a professional singer is not necessarily expensive.
Option B speaks about the pricing of the professional singer, this is not relevant to the question stem . Hence wrong
(C) The suggestion to hire a professional singer was first made by the guests themselves.
Option C which speaks about who initiated the hiring of the professional singer, but the question begins with mentioning professional singers only for those who had trouble to sync with the karaoke music. Hence, wrong.
(D) The guests' discomfort is caused by low self-esteem and a habit of comparing themselves with others.
Option D which speaks about the discomfort is caused by the low self esteem and habit of comparison, which will gradually reduce from the guests end. As breaking the ice will thaw the atmosphere and enable conducive environment. Hence correct.
(E) Most of the guests visiting the club are returning customers.
Option E which says the frequency of customers returning back to the same, the underlying theme is since they return frequently they develop a good rapport with the professional singer. No where, in the question stem is mentioned that there exists a one to one relationship with them, or frequency of visiting will nullify the discomfort. Hence wrong.

I believe it's E, as the conclusion assumes that the guests who came on the second day had at least some of the same members as the guests on the first day and doesn't take into account the fact that the guests on the second day could've just been more confident people in general.
