2) The number of female employees who are members of the custodial staff is four.

St 1 mentions the percentage of male + Percetange of custodial employess and what we need is female who are not part of the custodial employess... Froms st 1 we can dedue that its 50 % pr 60 employees.

St 2 Clearly Insufficient -

Stmt 1:
m + c = 50, so we can plugin different values for m & c to get number of male emp & custodial emp. But it will not give a specific value that is required for female emp not in custodial staff. Thus, its insufficient.

Stmt 2: we know that female emp who also are custodial emp is 4 but we need to find the number of female emp in the staff. Hence, its insufficient data.

Combining 1 & 2, we will get different number of male emp & female emp in the office as we are only given a relation in stmt 1. To get the ans, we need to get exact value of male so that Total staff - male emp = female emp.
Then using Stmt 2, we will get female emp - 4 = answer.
As we dont have the exact value of male emp, thus both stmts are insufficient.
Hence ans is E.

(1) This statement could mean that, possibly, 40% of the employees are male and 10% of the employees are custodial, without any overlap (so that all custodians are female). Or, it could potentially mean that 40% are male and 10% are custodial, but that all of the custodians are male. Thus, this statement is insufficient.

(2) This statement gives us no information about the number of females who are not custodial, or about the number of female employees in total. Accordingly, statement 2 is insufficient.

Even when we use the statements together, we still cannot calculate any values except for the ones covered above. Since the two statements above do not provide sufficient information to answer the question, the correct answer is E.
