Hi Aratrika,
The 'ease' with which you might improve on this Quant Scaled Score will depend on a number of different factors. Since you come from an Engineering background, you are likely taking the 'math approach' to questions far too often (instead of using faster and easier Tactical approaches and taking advantage of the built-in patterns that appear in all GMAT questions). In simple terms, if you keep 'responding' to the Quant section in the same general ways, then you will likely continue to score at this same general level. By extension, it's likely that you will need more than 1 week to make those changes to how you handle the Quant section.
Before I can offer you the specific advice that you're looking for, it would help if you could provide a bit more information on how you've been studying and your goals:
Studies:
1) How long have you studied in total? How many hours do you typically study each week?
2) What study materials have you used so far?
3) On what dates did you take EACH of your CATs/mocks and how did you score on EACH (including the Quant and Verbal Scaled Scores for EACH)?
4) What Schools are you planning to apply to and what are the exact application deadlines that you are facing?
GMAT assassins aren't born, they're made,
