can someone please explain the answer choice?

Type : Identify the conclusion

Argument :
In 1960s view by social scientists : paranoia was viewed as ungrounded fear of powerlessness
In 1960s Film themes: theme of paranoia as it relates to feelings of powerlessness was dominant in films of that period

In 1970s view by social scientists : paranoia was viewed as a response to real threats from society
In 1970s Film themes: Films portray paranoia as a legitimate response to a world gone mad

Evaluate the Options:

(A) Images of paranoia presented in films made in a period reflect trends in social science of that period. -- Correct, as Film themes are reflective of the social science trend in both the periods.

(B) Responses to real threats can, and often do, degenerate into groundless fears.-- Incorrect No information given about what real threats can do

(C) The world is becoming more and more threatening.-- Incorrect Broader conclusion that is not inline with the argument.

(D) Paranoia is a condition that keeps changing along with changes in society. -- Incorrect Broader No mention about relation between Paranoia and changes in society

(E) The shift in perception by social scientists from the 1960s to the 1970s resulted from an inability to find a successful cure for paranoia. -- Incorrect Broader No mention about shift in perception from 1960 to 1970

In the 1960s paranoia was viewed by social scientists as ungrounded fear of powerlessness, and the theme of paranoia as it relates to feelings of powerlessness was dominant in films of that period. In the 1970s paranoia instead was viewed by social scientists as a response to real threats from society. Films of this period portray paranoia as a legitimate response to a world gone mad.

Which one of the following is a conclusion that the statements above, if true, most strongly support?

(A) Images of paranoia presented in films made in a period reflect trends in social science of that period.

(B) Responses to real threats can, and often do, degenerate into groundless fears. - WRONG.

(C) The world is becoming more and more threatening. - WRONG.

(D) Paranoia is a condition that keeps changing along with changes in society.

(E) The shift in perception by social scientists from the 1960s to the 1970s resulted from an inability to find a successful cure for paranoia.
B and C are similar that make generic statement. E is a claim made out of nowhere with no relevance.
Only A and D stand out here. D loses out for it takes on society which is in general not pointed out in the passage.

Answer A.
