Let S be a point on AB bisecting it so that RS bisects AB in two halves, AS and SB, each having length 6.

Now, RS^2 + BS^2 = RB^2
RS^2 + 6^2 = 8^2
RS^2 = 64 - 36
RS^2 = 28
RS = 2√7

Area of quadrilateral = AB * RS
= 12 * 2√7
= 24√7

Option B
