In the figure, the area of the first rectangle is 100. What is the area of the second rectangle?

Area of first rectangle = x*y
Area of second rectangle = x*(y+5)

(1) x = 5
x*y = 100
x=5 , y =20
Sufficient. We have distinct value of x and y.

(2) y = 20
x*y = 100
x=5
Again sufficient. We have distinct value of x and y.

Correct Option D

Area of Rectangle (1) = l*w = XY = 100 ---- (1)
Area of Rectangle (2) = l*w = x(y+5) = XY + x5 --- (2)

Statement (1) (X = 5) = 100 + 5*5 = 125 = Sufficient
Statement (2) (Y = 20) XY = 100, X = (100/20) = 5,
Second rectangle X =5, Y = 20+5 = 25 = 25*5 = 125 Sufficient

Correct Option D
Both the statement are sufficient to find area of Rectangle.

IMO: D

given xy = 100
x(y+20) = ?

Statement 1:
x = 5 => y = 20, area of second rectangle can be found.

Statement 2:
y = 20 => x =5, area of second rectangle can be found.

Both statements are individually sufficient.
