(A) the condominium corporation took into account only the concerns of its prospective clients
(B) the condominium corporation has only taken into account the concerns of their prospective clients
(C) the condominium corporation only took their prospective clients’ concerns into account
(D) the concerns of its prospective clients only were taken into account by the condominium corporation
(E) prospective clients had their concerns only taken into account by the condominium corporation

In the initial planning stages - Must describe the condominium corporation ( So Only A, B and C remain )

Errors in B, C and other options highlighted in red...

Answer will be option (A)

Re: In the initial planning stages, the condominium corporation took into [#permalink]
B and C: “their”(plural) doesn’t have an antecedent.
D and E: “by the condominium corporation, not those of surrounding homeowners.” not parallel.
A: “its” correctly refers to “condominium corporation”. Hence, A is the answer

(A) the condominium corporation took into account only the concerns of its prospective clients - Correct: "In the initial planning stages" correctly modifes "the condominium corporation".

(B) the condominium corporation has only taken into account the concerns of their prospective clients - Wrong: 1) Wrong Tense: Should use past tense instead of present perfect 2) "their" instead of "its"

(C) the condominium corporation only took their prospective clients’ concerns into account - Wrong: 1) "their" instead of "its"

(D) the concerns of its prospective clients only were taken into account by the condominium corporation - Wrong: 1) Modifier issue. 2) Parallelism issue

(E) prospective clients had their concerns only taken into account by the condominium corporation - Wrong: 1) Modifier issue. 2) Parallelism issue

Re: In the initial planning stages, the condominium corporation took into [#permalink]
The issues here are pronouns and modifiers. Let’s look at the options:

(A) the condominium corporation took into account only the concerns of its prospective clients
The singular ‘its’ refers rightly to the singular ‘corporation. The tense used is correct. This is the best option.

(B) the condominium corporation has only taken into account the concerns of their prospective clients
Eliminate. ‘their’ a plural pronoun cannot refer back to ‘corporation’ which is singular.

(C) the condominium corporation only took their prospective clients’ concerns into account
Eliminate for the same reason as B. Pronoun number mismatch.

(D) the concerns of its prospective clients only were taken into account by the condominium corporation
Eliminate. The introductory phrase should modify ‘condominium corporation’. This option is passive.

(E) prospective clients had their concerns only taken into account by the condominium corporation
Eliminate. Same modifier issue as in Option D. Wrong use of past perfect tense - 'had their concerns'

Hope this helps!

CrackVerbalGMAT EducationAisle shouldn't "only" in (A) be placed near "prospective clients". I found (A) to give a distorted meaning and only through POE could be able to select it

when we say The condominium corporation took into account only the concerns of its prospective clients it seems as if ONLY the concerns (and nothing else) was taken into account.

Something like The condominium corporation took into account the concerns of only its prospective clients would convey the meaning better. Now we see that the concerns of ONLY the prospective clients (and not other type of clients) were taken into account

Agreed; the location of only doesn't seem ideal. Nevertheless, seems like an unofficial question.
