(posted this on another subforums as well i hope thats not a problem)
I am an Indian, currently a full time employee of the top international private banking/wealth management firm.
1) More than 9.5 years of experience with the same firm. 8 of those years as a QA, then a BA (IT/banking hybrid). 1.5 yrs as a permanent employee with operations product specialist profile(purely banking). Worked for 2 years in London, followed by 4+ in singapore(current location). Getting good recommendations from culturally diverse superiors wont be a problem.
2) GMAT - 700 (Q50, V35)
3) College info: Jawaharlal nehru engineering college, aurangabad, india. Bachelor of engineering graduated with around 85th percentile.
4) This is where i dont have much to show except for some employee meets etc organised whilst in london.
5) Important certifications - Hoping to clear a Wealth management diploma programe conducted by my employer. (june 2015)
6) Aiming for colleges that off programs around 1yr. Insead, IMD, IE, HKUST etc (open to recommendations)
7) I am hoping to apply for sep 2015/jan 2016 start.
8) My goal to do an MBA is to get some formal banking/operations education under my belt. More importantly to expand my horizons by studying with like minded individuals. Post MBA I would put newly acquired skill sets to use in my current industry and grow vertically. In short, I am not trying to radically change my current work profile but to better equip it for future.
Hoping to get some feedback! Thanks.
Hey there,
So I think overall you have an interesting profile, with long and good experience in an excellent industry, and good international experience to boot. And you are aiming for the right schools more or less. (You could also expand your list to EMBA programs). The thing is: you want to make it in for Sept 2015/Jan 2016? You gotta start like now! Or better yet, like YESTERDAY!
Deadlines deadlines deadlines...
What will help your profile the most? If you can somehow secure a job offer from your current employer (if you get an MBA we'll take you back on the finance side of things) then that would totally rock your application world. What do you think? Possible?
