Hi guys,
I am writing this post to know if anyone went through the same problem like I did when using the writing pad during the GMAT exam. First of all, I'd like to explain my peculiar circumstance. I am a natural lefty and I don't you if you guys know that some of the lefty people have a very odd way of writing; they write with their left hand twisted upwards while holding the pen as they don't get enough space in between their elbow and chest while writing from left to right (standard form unlike Arabic writing which is written from right to left). If you guys don't believe me then try it yourself; you'll understand what I mean.
So when I was in school and got a chance to use a pen for the first time in class I bought my first ink pen. It was at that time that I realized ink/gel pen was not for me because as I wrote from left to write on the page while dragging my upwardly twisted palm everything that I wrote was getting smeared/erased on the page to the left side of my hand. Therefore, I switched to ball pens for forever.
During my whole prep, I practiced for GMAT using blank white papers with a pencil. However, on the exam day, I found out that I had to write on this laminated scratchpad with a wet marker. Now I would like you all to guess what happened....?
Yes! As I wrote everything got smeared/erased and I panicked. I tried everything I could to overcome the situation at that point: slanted the writing pad, tried to write with a straight palm (imagine that!). Of Course, I didn't try to write with my right hand!
If you are wondering then yes I bombed my exam as well.
So I am thinking of buying a similar scratchpad and practicing on it before I retake my GMAT test. However, I still doubt that I can overcome this problem as I cannot change the way I write within some days or even years.
Guys really if anyone went through the same problem then any kind of suggestion would help. Would I be able to bring this problem up with the GMAC?
I really don't know how to overcome this problem. Its funny that I have to worry about this instead of my score.
Thank you,
Dablu
