I am a R2 applicant. Didn't want to rush it just to make R1. It looks like INSEAD's R2 app process gets done only by end Feb.
Has anyone pushed the ad-com into issuing a decision earlier? The primary purpose for this is that people may have to intimate and pay off the deposit to other schools before INSEAD gets back with a decision.

I think it depends on how quick you want a decision. Generally I don't like to bug admissions, they have deadlines posted so people don't keep asking about decision timelines. Hindsight is 20/20 but it would have been smart to time your applications so the decisions come around the same time (or at least apply to your preferred school first).

Another option might be to ask the other school for an acceptance/deposit extension.

That is a fair comment. I also considered it the other way: It would be a good confidence booster to go through the admissions process at a seemingly less competitive school. I know that now it was probably not the greatest idea.

I have applied to HEC Paris and they seem to be going through the process pretty quick (of course still early stages: just an interview invite but it came < 1 week after I submitted the app).

INSEAD interview: i am one of those who received an early interview invitation, and was done with my interviews on Nov 4th. However, i noticed on the email that INSEAD sent (the one with my interviewers details) a request to conduct both my interviews prior to November 15th... is it the same deadline for the people who received an invitation on Nov 5th (or a few days earlier)? coz for the latter, Nov 15th is not feasible!

its not the same. I received my invite on 4th nov and alum contact yday 9th Nov and the mail says I should preferably complete my interview by 30th Nov.

Hello,

I was wondering if while enrolled at INSEAD and doing an exchange program with Kellogg for a term, can a student take electives from other departments at Northwestern University, outside of the business school.

For example if a student wants to take classes from the engineering school while at Kellogg would that be allowed. Responses from any INSEAD students who have done an exchange would greatly be appreciated.

Thank you.

So basically, people with early interview invitation have a deadline of Nov 15th, while people with regular interview invitation have a deadline of Nov 30th.
Does this mean that decisions will be released earlier for those with early invitation? any thoughts?

Good luck to all those who made it thru or are in the process of applying...

Does anyone know if the interviewer basically gives a rating 1-5 on how much they recommend the interviewee?

just finished my 1st interview.. my 2nd interviewer is not free and so he asked the school to find an alternative.. havent received 2nd contact yet..

My experience was pretty good given that I have done only 2 interviews over my life. I could have had much better though.. questions were pretty much the same as others -- why MBA, why now etc.. interviewer did stretched me on one particular behavioral question though, I think he was not satisfied with my answer and I fell for the classical mistake of not taking time to think before answering.. I will remember that next time I would simply say: "that is a very interesting question, let me take a moment to think over it.. " I feel it is fine to pause for few seconds to recollect thoughts and answer..

I hope a single mistake does not break my interview coz on most other part I felt he was satisfied with my answers...

does anybody know if insead gives final decisions on the date of the deadline or it maybe you can get decision earlier when you have already finished your interviews (just as it was with interview invites)?

I was browsing through the past years' thread, and it appeared the calls started to flood in on the Wednesday of the notification week, which in our case should be Dec 15th.

I need some help here.. do you guys suggest sending just the 6 pages of the application form to the interviewer or the entire PDF? I wondering whether it will help if the interviewer knows my story. On the other hand, he will know everything so that may make our dicussion a little boring (provided he has read all my essays)
