Hey Everyone,
I have read many forum posts on INSEAD vs Top US Schools where it is mainly a decision based on where you want to work post-MBA.
The question I have is regarding INSEAD vs 2nd tier US Schools (Tepper, Marshall, Anderson).
Post MBA, I want to work in MBB Consulting and I would prefer to work in US.
Option 1: Accept the US school
Pros: Local school makes it easier to get job in local market, not as intense, have time to do internship
Cons: a lot more top schools will get preference at MBB, very expensive
Option 2: Accept INSEAD
Pros: Amazing Brand, only 1 year program, lower fees, lower opportunity cost.
Cons: weak brand in US
I could technically work in Europe for a bit and then transfer to US?
Option 3: Reject both and wait another year for Top Tier US School
Pros: Higher chance of getting into Top school
Cons: I already have acceptances, why throw away what you already have for a maybe. I dont have the time and motivation to grind another 6 months to update gmat and apply again.
Any advice is greatly appreciated

I will reply fully later (running to a call) but I would take INSEAD... I will think it through better when I am back but for now, this is my gut feel

Following up to my first post, even though I usually recommend going to school in the country or at least the continent where you were planning to work, there are a few elements that I feel make the situation different.
First of all, as a Canadian citizen, you should be able to get a TN visa and not have to go through the euro H1B process for US recruiting. Second, INSEAD is all about consulting. While it’s an international program, it is the top program that focuses on consulting. Everyone breathes consulting unlike a top 20. Most of the top 20 programs do not have MBB’s on campus like the top 10 do. There are a few exceptions such as UNC but chances are quite weak for MBB in general out of low tier programs. Competition is fierce for MBB’s and you have to be flawless in terms of your interview and presentation skills.
The caliber and the diversity of your classmates would also be very impressive at Insead It would give you the best chance for consulting but not the US.
PS. I am surprised that you have not cracked any of the top tens. Surprising that you get in at Insead but not in the US. I think you liked out and I would leverage that. However, business schools a lot of work and a lot depends on you. It is possible to go to Harvard and come out no better than before…. Surprised with the results so reluctant to recommend applying next year.
