Agreed - follow the tone but generally the rule of thumb is you go by what they sign. Also, at this level, it might things a little strange if you go the "Mr./Ms./Mrs." route when the interaction doesn't call for it. Yes, they're interviewing you, but the dynamic doesn't call for a level disparity.

Just read the situation and you'll be fine!

Personally I'd start with being formal (Mr.) and if a good connection is made and you feel comfortable to switch to first name, go ahead.

It's a good practice to use the name mentioned in the E-mail. If the sender is addressing you with Mr/Ms/Miss , do the same appropriately.
