Until today, I thought that IR score is one for one. As I have seen GMAT info sources (non gmac) suggest skipping questions. I thought if you get 8 questions right out of 12, you will score 8. Can anyone please elaborate on how IR is scored?
From what I saw on the web about IR scoring -
1. Different questions have different difficulty levels.
So, even if I answered 8 correctly, they won't stand for a score of 8.
2. So, would it be weighted score? Has GMAC ever published how it is scored or is everyone just guessing? Because I couldn't find any info on MBA.com on Ir scoring.
3. Also, I saw on the web (please confirm this) - that some of the question you will see on IR will be experimental. And those experimental questions could range from 2 to 4. And even if I get them right, they won't count towards my score. Is that correct? I read it in a post published by Economist.
4. Does that mean - I should attempt all questions or I can still skip and guess some questions.
Thanks!
We have some analysis on IR: Check out below links
gmat-prep-software-analysis-and-what-if-scenario-ir-147106.htmlthe-next-generation-gmat-gmat-integrated-reasoning-130224.htmlHope you get your answers...
In my experience...If you skip one or two questions...you can atleast... score 5-6 on IR provided you are certain all other questions are correct
ATB!!
