Is 6 a factor of positive integer x ?

(1) When x is divided by 7, the remainder is 5.
(2) When x is divided by 9, the remainder is 3.

1)
x=7a+5
a=0, x=5
a=1, x=12

Not sufficient

2)
x=9b+3
a=0, x=3
b=1, x=12

Not sufficient

Combining both

7a+5 = 9b+3

9b-2 =7a

b=1, a=1, x=12
b=8, a=10, x=75

not sufficient

For a question like this, it was easy to quickly pick out 12. However, it wasn't easy to pick out 75. Is there a 'quick' way to identify 75 or did we just have to keep on testing?
One of the things I struggle with is knowing when I have tested enough values to arrive a conclusion. Bunuel?

Is 6 a factor of positive integer x ?

(1) When x is divided by 7, the remainder is 5.
x can be 12 or 19 , We get 2 different values , so option 1 - Insufficient

(2) When x is divided by 9, the remainder is 3.
x can be 12 or 21, We get 2 different values , so option 2 - Insufficient

(1) + (2) together

x can be 12 or 75, We get 2 different values , so Option 1 and 2 together - Insufficient

Is 75 something that you arrived at while testing the values?
Is there a quicker way?
Example : It was easy to point out 12, I could not imagine 75 would have been there as well.

(1) When x is divided by 7, the remainder is 5.
X=12 R12/7 = 5
X=75 R75/7 = 5
Not sufficient

(2) When x is divided by 9, the remainder is 3.
X=12 R12/9 = 3
X=75 R75/9 = 3
Not sufficient

(1) + (2)

X=12 R12/7 = 5, R12/9 = 3
X=75 R75/7 = 5, R75/9 = 3
Not sufficient

Is 6 a factor of positive integer x ?

Stat1: When x is divided by 7, the remainder is 5.
Here, x belongs to 5, 12, 19.. So, can be factor of 6 or not. Not sufficient.
Stat2: When x is divided by 9, the remainder is 3.
Here, x belongs to 3, 12, 21, ...So, can be factor of 6 or not. Not sufficient.

Combining both stats, x will be divisible by 7*9= 63 and remainder will be 12, say x= 63*p+ 12
Here, x belongs to 12, 75, 138 ...So, can be factor of 6 or not. Not sufficient.

So, I think, E. :)

How did you get the equation x = 63p + 12
please explain
