Hi, I recently reattempted GMAT and got 675 (QR-87, VR-81, DI-82), 96 percentile which was equivalent to 730 in classic edition. This was an improvement from my previous score of 690 (classic).

I am aiming to apply in ISB R2 and would like to know your opinion on whether 675 is good enough, so that I can now focus solely on my application?

A brief about my profile:
30 M Indian
10th- 9.6 CGPA
12th- 81%

B. Tech- 7.9/10 from IIT Varanasi, India

Work Ex:
6 months- Raw material handling role in Steel Industry in a PSU (a govt company)
5 years- Inspection role in petroleum sector PSU (Fortune 500)
8 months- Started a white labeling startup with my brother. But had to shut it down due to harsh competition and difficulty in maintaining quality. (Don't know if that reflects positively on my profile)

Extra curricular:
-Managed an event in a college fest.
-Volunteered for 4 months as content developer in an NGO working on children education in rural parts of India.

Post MBA Goals: Have an inclination towards consultancy due to my experience in inspection role which involved problem solving skills. But would like to keep my options open as I explore more during my MBA

Hello damon5111,

Hope this finds you well.

A 675 is a very good score and you must now solely focus on preparing a stellar application. A set of essays that adequately portray your strengths and showcase strong sync between your professional experience and career goals, along with your existing GMAT score, will give you a strong chance at receiving an interview call.

All the best!

GMAT score is fine, damon5111, and the IIT pedigree helps too.

Work-ex seems interesting. Is it listed sequentially i.e. is the white labelling start-up the first or most recent one?

It'd be crucial to have a strong narrative highlighting your journey, growth arc and motivations. Some best practices and guidelines for ISB's latest essays can be found here
