Do we require a 80 percentile in both quants and verbal to gain entry into the top 15 schools in the US? Can someone also let me know the corresponding core scores required to be in the 80 percentile for both quants and verbal?

Not necessarily.
There is a strong belief that you do need a high Quant score for Finance schools but nothing really for verbal.

Adding to what BB has said:
Schools like students who are balanced between the two subjects. That being said, if you kill quant with a 90+ percentile and score 75 or even 70 percentile in verbal, you will be fine.
Remember, the main use of the GMAT is to be on the table for consideration. After that, your app and essays are much more important than the GMAT.
