Agreed - "starting". And to answer your original question - no, it's not obnoxious at all. You could be the first string QB or the fourth string QB but if you just write QB, it doesn't give them as much insight. Definitely include it!

Starting is good. You should use any space in the application to highlight your skills and accomplishments, so why not?
