Hello GMATClubers-
I have been admitted to several business schools and am waiting on few others. There is one school that I applied to 3 weeks ago, they said I'll hear back from them in 2-4 weeks. I asked them if it would be possible to communicate a decision in 2 weeks so I can respond to the offers of other schools. They told me that they would try their best. I have called them several times just to check the admission status and I get different replies. After two weeks of submission, I was told that it will take 2-4 weeks more. I called them today to see if the admission committee has decided on my application. They told me to contact the assistant director directly. My question is if it is okay to contact assistant director in this regard? I would appreciate the responses.
Thanks.
You might not want to be too persistent or you'll come off as being pushy. It's been 3 weeks into their 2-4 week timeline, so they still have a week to be within the time frame they gave you. Is it your top choice? Maybe you can contact the other schools and ask for extensions if you're worried about contacting the director. OTOH, if they told you to contact a specific person, they're likely going to have the information you want. But they do still have a week before they're outside of the time they initially gave you so getting an extension might be a better option.
