It's certainly possible to improve from a Q43 to a Q49 in two months. If your foundation is good, and you're not having difficulties with easy and medium level problems, you should be working on higher level questions. Because the problems in the official books cover the entire ability spectrum, those books don't contain a lot of high-level questions. That's more true of earlier editions of those books, though - the latest editions are harder than the older ones. Since official practice is the most realistic practice, you might consider getting the newest official books, since those won't overlap much with OG2015 and QR2. You could also get the official question pack. That will give you a bigger supply of realistic high-level questions to work from. That still may not be enough, but you could supplement those sources with other realistic materials designed for higher level test takers - I wrote my books and problem sets precisely because there aren't enough good practice questions available for Q45+ level test takers, for example, and there may be other worthwhile resources you could look at.

What about GMAT prep questions?
I have found some files compiled by carcass
Should I try those? Are those have the same priority as the official guide.

What about GMAT prep questions?

GMATPrep questions are excellent questions, just as good as any other official problems, and there have been a lot of good high-level questions in the GMATPrep tests over the years. The one problem with using those questions for practice is that many of them will still appear in the official practice tests. If you study those questions, you won't be able to rely on the scores you get from those practice tests, because you'll know many of the questions in advance. Since those tests are invaluable for test-taking practice (they're the only way to get an accurate score estimate, and the only realistic way to practice pacing) I would not recommend doing anything that might compromise their usefulness.

Hi RashedVai,

If you are consistently scoring in the Q43-Q44 range on your practice CATs, then your general math skills and knowledge are likely fine. The Quant section of the GMAT is NOT a 'math test' though; it's a critical thinking test that requires lots of little calculations as you work through it. This is meant to say that to score at a significantly higher level in the Quant section (and thus, overall), you'll almost certainly need to change how you "see" (and respond to) that section of the Test. Thus, the answer to your question depends greatly on how 'flexible' of a thinker you are; if you continue to treat the Quant section in the same ways as before, then you will likely continue to score at the same level. However, you might be able to improve relatively quickly, once you focus more on learning and practicing the Tactics, patterns and little 'secrets' of the Exam.

Before I can offer you any additional advice for your studies, it would help if you could provide a bit more information on how you've been studying and your goals:

Studies:
1) How long have you studied? How many hours do you typically study each week?
2) What study materials have you used so far?
3) On what dates did you take EACH of your CATs/mocks and how did you score on EACH (including the Quant and Verbal Scaled Scores for EACH)?

Goals:
4) What is your overall goal score?
5) When are you planning to take the GMAT?
6) When are you planning to apply to Business School?
7) What Schools are you planning to apply to?
