Hi, I was reading The Atlantic and found this sentence. Is the pronoun usage correct here.
One of the most chameleonic and social-media-savvy politicians in the world, Salvini’s big themes are defending Italy’s borders against what he calls an “invasion” of undocumented immigrants—“Italians first” is the League’s motto—and defending Italian sovereignty against the bean counters of the EU who he says have effectively emasculated Italy with their irritating rules.
Yes, as per GMAT standard, this is an erroneous sentence. Columnist/reporter will for sure score very low in verbal, if he/she opts to.
Correct senetence should be like this:
One of the most chameleonic and social-media-savvy politicians in the world,
Salvini..... is using his themes in defending taly’s borders against what he calls an “invasion” of undocumented immigrants—.......
