meenalkaushik,
Below is the structure you should follow:
· Para 1: Explain your understanding of the topic
· Para 2: Share your POV from both sides – for and against with conclusive examples (specific and not generic). If possible (don’t try to superimpose / force fit), personalize the examples with instances from your own life.
· Para 3: Conclude with your stance and the rationale behind the chosen stance
Examples of responses drafted by one of the applicants we helped in R1 to successfully get into ISB.
1. AI and Climate ChangeAI and Climate change are going hand in hand in the current world we are living in. However, I believe that AI is the solution to our ever-growing problem of climate change, that has the potential to destroy our planet in few centuries itself.
AI can help us scale up production of green energy and itself run with that clean energy. It can help us scale green energy in harsh environments where humans can’t survive and can independently run the system.
However, there is an opposite possibility as well, where AI can be counterproductive, become so powerful that it consumes most of the power and leads to more global warming and climate change. We are that juncture of time where every decision of ours in terms of AI development can decide the fate of the planet. Hence, we make any major developments in the field of AI particularly integrating it with hardware, it’s long-term effect on climate must be critically analysed – we don’t have a planet B.
2. One of your seniors is trying to make you a scapegoat for a mistake at workIf one of my seniors is trying to make me a scapegoat for a mistake at work that they made, considering that even after my confrontation, they still continue to do so. I would approach this situation by presenting a transparent narrative and communication in front of the leadership.
First, I can’t directly go and confront about this to the leadership as this might make me seem like a complainer and not a team player. Hence, I will keep a separate retrospective meeting with the leadership to understand the problem and how it could have been escaped.
In this meeting I would come up with the comprehensive project plan and list down the critical tasks along with their owners and make it very clear where the major mistake was originating from. Even if I made any smaller mistake, I would take its responsibility. This will not only make my narrative credible but also highlight the responsible person along with highlighting any other member who committed any mistake.
