(A): Incorrect. (A)'s use of "which" creates a modifier error by incorrectly suggesting that the "world" (the noun before the modifier) "belongs geologically to North America's tectonic plate," rather than that Greenland does.
(B): Incorrect. (B) involves the same modifier error as (A), incorrectly referring to "world" rather than to "Greenland."
(C): Correct.
(D): Incorrect. (D)'s "it" has no antecedent, and its use of "it is" creates a run-on sentence as "it is ... world" and "icy Greenland ... plate" are independent clauses connected by a comma.
(E): Incorrect. (E) unnecessarily uses "being" to apply the participle "mistaken." Further, (E) incorrectly applies the modifier "Despite ... continent" to "the largest island," rather than the intended subject "Greenland."
