Hi, got admitted on the same day as I started this thread. The admissions lady asked me basically almost the same questions as in the invitation email. Additionally, she asked me: -Why Canada/Ivey? -Why Cems? -Which exchange destinations I chose and why did I choose them? -How do I keep up to date? -My interests and my future career?
The interview was straightforward, question - answer type (30min). Try to make her/him to understand who you are and how Ivey might help you. Overall, I believe that I answered ~8 questions (3-5min each answer).
It depends on the stream. However, it is recommended that you submit a strong GMAT score to make up for any pitfalls in your application such as low cgpa, no work ex, low leadership/ extra curricular ex, etc.
The online video interview is also called Kira interview. It is a live video recording interview system. When you hit the link on the application form, you’ll be taken to separate platform called Kira. You’ll have to sign up and run compatibility test. On the platform, you’ll receive unlimited practice rounds with sample questions. (Do at least 3-4 times before moving on the final one). Once you move to the final one and hit start, it soon starts recording. You’ll be given a question and then few mins with a timer to answer them. Just go on the Kira platform and explore. You’ll learn and see it’s not that difficult. Also, google Kira interview. You’ll find tons of resources and how to prepare and what to expect. There’s really not much you can prepare for because the questions are a bit random and you need to know the basics about yourself and the program. Do this video interview after your essays. I don’t remember the questions I was asked.
Yes, I accepted the offer. Since I didnot give GMAT, they have asked me to complete a course on MBAMath and submit the transcripts to them before 1st September, 2021.
I have also made a group on facebook today by the name of IVEY MSC IB Jan 2022 intake. Please feel free to join that. It is mainly for MSc IB discussion as I myself couldn't find any group/platform to discuss the admission process and interview questions online. It will also be a great platform to connect with the ones who have already accepted the admission offer.
No, I didn’t receive any such condition, as I submitted gmat. However I think this is very generous and considerate of them. Instead of rejecting you, they’re offering you a chance and a means. Also, let’s connect.
The only thing I am worried about is my low GPA and no GMAT. I have 1.5 years experience in building and managing my own startup other than that I am involved with multiple Non-profits and volunteer regularly. Planning to submit my application in 1 or 2 days. No idea what will happen. Hope I get in.
Kosh2020 Usually ppl try to compensate for Low gpa with a high gmat score. But since you don’t have gmat, you really need to pull through in your essays and experiences section. Essentially your writing has to be very good and you have to build a convincing story. PM me you want me to proofread your essay. Good luck! Cheers
