Hello,
I am currently drafting my job essays for the INSEAD MBA.
I am entrepreneur working in energy area after having left the corporate world. I would like to know how to tackle the essay on "What would be your next step in terms of position if you were to remain in the same company instead of going to business school?" since I have created the company (I am the only general manager)
Any ideas?
Thank you
ibnking I suggest that you be honest in answering this question. Mention what hurdles or opportunities you are faced with in your entrepreneurial venture and what would staying put yield in the short-term horizon (2-3 years). As an alumna of INSEAD I can tell you that this question is quite tricky, and it carries a different meaning for different kinds of profiles.
The adcom uses this question for two objectives-
1. To see how your company perceives you, if you are employed in a full-time job (are you someone who is set up for bigger, better opportunities if you stay with your employer? Or are you someone who is struggling with stagnation and merely looking for an exit path through MBA?)
2. To see how an INSEAD MBA would add value to your career (this is likely to be your case as a self employed person/ entrepreneur)
