Hi GMATClub,
I'd appreciate if I can get your inputs on this.
I've been in a fortunate enough position to get accepted into two great institutions.
I come from a very finance background (Private Banking, Treasury, Corporate Finance and Investment Banking) and want to eventually transition into a Marketing / Business Development / Corporate Strategy role post MBA, preferably in a CPG firm. The Johnson Immersion Program really appeals to me so I get my feet wet pre-internship.
I've been to both campuses and the feeling I got with Johnson was just very different. The students and professors who I spoke to were all very accommodating and supportive of me during the application process.
Although I would prefer to live in more metropolitan city such as DC, this is not a deal breaker for me. At some point, I think living in a rural area such as Ithaca might be better for me because I tend to easily get distracted.
Recruiting wise, I don't really know how McDonough does but Johnson seems to attract a wider set of companies. It must also be said that I am an international, which makes me harder to place post-MBA.
Cost wise, I'm fortunate enough to be in a position to be indifferent about this. What's more important to me is the experience during the program.
Last point, I guess it doesn't hurt that Johnson is part of the Ivy League right?
Your thoughts?
Much love,
Ceekster
P.S. If you'll note on my profile, I've made a decision to go to Johnson. I'm just looking for further validation that my decision is correct.
Congrats,
Cornell is your way. The revamped program will help you along its reputation and accessibility to NY. But i think most of CPG companies locate in the mid west. From ranking standpoint, Cornell has upper hand.
good luck
