Hi,
I'm aiming at a top business school in the US (including HBS). I just scored 700, which I guess is OK. But I only got a score of 47 in the Quant part (68th percentil)... I'm not sure wether I should retake it or not! Any advice?

First of all, congrats on your score! I know you would have liked to have scored higher, but if this was your first attempt, you're in good enough shape to be able to squeeze out a few more points on a second attempt. That being said, I'm curious to know more about the following:
1) How much time did you spend preparing for the GMAT?
2) What materials did you use?
3) When are you applying to business school?
Additionally, you should feel free to reach out to admissions officers at the schools you're interested in. The GMAT is an important piece of your application, but it isn't the ONLY piece of your application, so feel free to ask for as much information from those officers as you feel you need.

First off, a 700/Q47 is an outstanding score (it's right around the 90th percentile overall, so calling it an "OK" score makes you sound silly. It puts you in range of any Business School that you want to apply to, including Harvard. The only situation in which your Q47 might be a "minor" issue would be if you were planning to apply to a Finance-based Program or certain Specialty Programs (and even then it is unlikely that you would be rejected because of a Q47). You have to remember that competitive programs look at your OVERALL application, and no score (not even an 800) would guarantee you anything.
When it comes to applying to competitive Schools, you will likely find it beneficial to work with an Admissions Expert. There's a Forum full of them here:
