I have the following question:-
Just like Congress is the legislative branch of the Federal government of the United States,so Parliament is the legislative body of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland.
a)As Congress is the legislative branch of the federal government of the United States
b)As Congress is the legislative branch of the federal government of the United States,in the same way
c)Just as Congress is the legislative branch of the federal government of the United States,so
I have read that as is used to connect clauses, so here as should be used instead of like.
Now,
a)As should be followed by some connector(don't know the exact term) here . So it looks wrong to me
b,c . I am unable to choose between them .
Your thoughts on the above.

Hi abhishek14jan The question test the correct use of idiom "just as X, so Y"
This idiom means "in the same way" and is used to mention analogous situation.
Just like Congress is the legislative branch of the Federal government of the United States,so Parliament is the legislative body of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland.
Like is followed by Noun / Noun phrase NOT clause. Thus incorrect.

Use of "just as X, so Y" idiom is required to reflect proper intended meaning.

Use of "in the same way" is wordy. "so" is required to make a valid idiom.
