K is a set of integers such that if the integer r is in K, then r + 1 is also in K. Is 100 in K?

(1) 50 is in K.

(2) 150 is in K.

if 50 is in k, then so is 51
if 51 is in k, then so is 52
etc. to 100
so a is sufficient

however, working backwards doesn't work - i.e. if 150 is in k, then 151, 152, etc. is in k, but 149 may or may not be in k
so b is not sufficient

therefore, the correct answer choice is a

rephrase : if 99 is in k then 100 is in k

(1) 50 is in K. 51 is in k , 52 is in k.............suff

(2) 150 is in K.

151 is in k , 152 is in k .......insuff
