I wonder if someone can name the numbers of the most difficult questions from the book? I think it will be useful for all test-takers, who want to try the book but do not have the time for the whole of it.

Good idea. Anyone wants to take it on?
I am happy to provide free GMAT club test access to anyone who posts the list of hardest questions from each chapter (1 one) person only.

Would have done it :)

But I already have the access! But I'm always ready to help!

By the way! I've gone through the Kaplan Advanced Book :|

... and it really doesn't deliver... I could solve some of the questions in my mind... Technically I shouldn't be able to do that for +700 level questions!

P.S.

I'm talking about the Quant part :P

I do agree after solving the entire kaplan 2011 strategies book last weekend and getting the kaplan 800 as per bb's review, this is just a good one for more practice, my study is not going in the most systematic way, weekdays I do MGMAT books and weekends are for taking tests; doing books like kaplan, my test date is 8th sept 2011, I must admit doing this study after a very demanding research job and taking care of a small baby is taking its toll on me, but solving kaplan 800 was anyways my next self-assignment and selecting kaplan 800 tough problems will help others and me to, so I took BB's challenge, but I might take 2 to 4 weeks, so entwistle go ahead if you want to do this for time is crucial for other test takers at this point!

Okay... I'll see what I can do! However, I can judge the difficulty for only the PS and DS problems. I can't do the same for Verbal problems :P

Well this is disappointing, I was hoping the K800 book would be a good resource to practice the harder questions.

Guess maybe I'll go through it and just take it with a grain of salt.

So if most of the members state that the quantitative part is not that good, let those who want to take the challenge post only a list of the most difficult questions from the verbal part.

Thanks a lot for sharing your experience!

To keep my momentum going, I am posting the tough questions as I finish each section, Just finished the CR section of Kaplan GMAT 800 today. Frankly, I thought my CR was not too bad, In my first GMAT prep (680--38 V, 45 Q) which I gave more or less as a diagnostic test (first month of my study-was solving OG 12 on the go, just to get a feel if GMAt is my cuppa coffe :), I got 2 CR wrong. But this book is quite an eye-opener, making me again question myself-why am i doing this, also i found the nature of questions off from the general OG-types I have been working with. All the ques below are the ones which either I got wrong or got right but was doubtful about:
Chapter 2: Prob # 3, 7
Chapter 3: #9,10,11
Chapter 4: #1,2,4,7,9,10,13,16,20,21,27

RC coming up, For the record I had no RCs wrong in my first test, lets see how this compares!

RC tough questions:
Chapter5: Has no questions
Chapter6: Passage 1: #1, #4, Passage 2: #1, #3, Passage 3: #4, Passage 4: #3
Chapter7: Passage 1: #2, Passage 2:None, Passage 3: #3, #4, Passage 4: #1, #2.

In general, I found the social/economy (chap6) passages to be tougher than the science (chap7) ones. As with CR, I dont completely agree with few of their answer choices, but then it may be wrong judgement on my part.

Ok, Here are the remaining hard questions for all the book:
Sentence Correction
Chapter 8- no questions
Chapter 9: Ques #: 8,10,13,15,16,19,20,25,27,29,32,35,36,37
Chapter10: Ques #: 44,45,46,49,57,58,59,60,62,63,64,66,67,68,72
Chapter 11: Ques #: 2,6,11,14,16,23,25,27,29,34,35,36,37,39
In general I am not good in SC, other than that I did not like the SC in this book because in some cases the choices are so arbit that the meaning changes. Also I dont think these questions are in line with the OG questions, having solved all of them from OG12 & OG verbal. I definitely need to hit that MGMAT SC guide now, thats my last resort to improve SC.
Moving on to math questions, yes they are agreeably simpler than OGs, my problem areas are word problems, probability, permutations, combinations. I have gone thru MGMAT guides 1 & 3, so I was doing very well on number properties. Next target is to hit the remaining MGMAT quant guides.
Chapter 12: no questions
Chapter 13: #14
Chapter 14: #3
Chapter 15: #13
Chapter 16: no questions
Chapter 17: #3,16,17,27,28,29,36
Chapter 18: #9
Chapter 19: #1,3,7
Chapter 20: No questions
Chapter 21: #7
Chapter 22: #4,8,16,17,18
Again all these questions are the ones which I either got worng or was not sure about and took more than reasonable time to get thru.
BB, do i get an access to GMAT club tests and other GMAT club paid material now or I am too late....

Uhh, I don't want to sound negative but I have to post this reply.

For a Christ's sake don't waste your money and time on this bunch of worthless papers! I can't decide which part is worse, Quant or Verbal. Although both are poorly written and even worse explained I firmly believe that, if you are working on your verbal skills using this garbage, your score is likely to go down. Kaplans readings, arguments and sentences are so poorly written and so far from real test questions that you are probably going to adopt some creepy logic of Kaplans instructors, which ultimately leeds to drop in your verbal score.

Math section is not so "dangerous" as verbal but still is one of the poorest crapy things I've ever seen. There is no any kind of methodology or some structured approach, instead they will give you a bunch of questions that were considered hard probably in the 1970's but now are a joke when compared to the real deal. But even that is not the end of the trouble. Quant questions are so poorly explained that I was sick when I first read one of explanations. Plain language, without any kind of try to establish some methodical or scientific approach. "Why A is bigger than B? Because it is, maaaan! You see, Earth is bigger than Moon, Sun is bigger than Earth... A is bigger than B! See? Right? OK, let's go further...".

Math section has no any kind of structure or organization, there are just examples clustered in some groups of 4 based on similarity of an issue. Questions are hard but that is just the entry level of hard q's seen on the real deal. For example, motion problems... They presented only one problem of two objects moving toward each other. Simple, basic problem with two planes fluying in the opposite directions at a constant speed. How long will take them to pass each other? Yeah, right, though one isn't it? That' the point of start for some serious test prep programs, but a peak of career for the Merry Andrew who write funny questions for Kaplan.

Although I agree with Gmatblackbelt who wrote that Kaplan was the only test prep program that even mentioned something about elipsis in the SC part of the Kaplan800, I don't think that one passage (also poorly written) is good enough reason to spend 27 bucks on this book. If you are a serious test taker stick to the serious programs, if you are a beginner then lurk throughout this forum and find some stuff to start with (I guess Princeton Review or something like that).

I second that i bought these books and the verbal sctions are at the best avoidable. Questions are ambiguous , do not reflect GMAT and very poor exlanations. Quant is very easy. Not helpful

got my copy of the book today and I have to say I'm a bit disappointed. Was expecting questions which are harder than the ones in OG but none of the questions seemed too challenging or even close to the questions available in this forum.
